Short version: no cookies, no ads, no tracking you around the web, nothing sold. Here is what does happen, in plain words.
Who’s responsible
Lari Syrota – Signal & Noise, Wyb. Jana Pawla II 20, 37-700 Przemysl, Poland. Anything about your data: lari [at] s-noi.se.
Server logs
Like every web server, the one behind this site notes a few things on each visit: your IP address, date and time, the page you asked for, the page you came from, and your browser and operating system. It needs that to deliver the page and to catch errors and attacks. The logs are deleted after 14 days at the latest.
The server is run by IONOS SE in Germany, which handles this data on our behalf under a data processing agreement.
Visitor numbers
We count visits with Umami, which runs on our own server, also at IONOS. It sets no cookies, doesn’t recognize you on your next visit and doesn’t follow you to other sites. It sees which page you opened, where you came from, your browser, device type and country. Your IP address is used for a moment to work out the country and is not stored. What we end up with is numbers like “40 people looked at this page last week”. Nobody else gets them.
If you write to us, we get your address and whatever you put in the message, and we use it to reply. Mail runs through Google Workspace (Google Ireland Ltd.) under a data processing agreement; Google may also process it in the US, outside the EU, covered by the EU’s safeguards for transfers to the US. We keep emails as long as the conversation matters, and business correspondence as long as tax and accounting rules require.
Links
Links on this site are plain links. Nothing loads from the other side until you click, and once you’re there, their privacy rules apply.
Your rights
You can ask what we have about you, have it corrected or deleted, limit or object to how it’s used, and get a copy to take elsewhere. One email to lari [at] s-noi.se is enough. If you feel we’ve mishandled your data or fallen short of the rules, you can take it up with the Polish data protection authority, the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (UODO), ul. Stawki 2, 00-193 Warszawa, uodo.gov.pl, or with the authority where you live.
Changes
If the site starts doing something new with data, this page changes first.
